DIY Tiki Torches

Have you caught on yet that I love spending time at home? Especially in the summer around the pool and patio. For the most part, as long as the sun is shining you’ll see me outside from starting the day with my morning coffee, tapping away on my laptop, afternoons by the pool, and evenings on the swing with a glass of wine. The only downside of all that time outside is the bugs. So, I decided to give my tiki torches a little facelift and make them look pretty!

I started out with a basic plastic flower planter I picked up from Walmart. I love the pretty bronze style planters but am not a fan of the price tag. So, just call me Joanna because I bought the cheapest terra cotta colored planters I could find and sprayed them with bronze spray paint. You’re now seeing them 3 years in, and they still look great!

Now for the fun part –

I love picking and planting flowers. However, this year was the first time I realized there were actual citronella plants! Umm, you better believe I added one of those bad boys to each of these planters. I’m not good with flower names so forgive me, but I always start with something that grows straight and tall for the center and go for something that will vine well around the edges.

I hope this gives you a little patio inspiration, because it’s been one of my favorite parts of our outside space!

I’m a stay at home mom of three kiddos, and wife to my high school sweetheart. I’ve always had a love for fashion and styles that you won’t find on just anybody. Follow me on this journey so I can share with you all of my favorite things!
