Fall is officially here, are you ready for it? As much as I miss the pool days and evenings where the sun is still shining at 8pm I’m so glad I live where I get to experience all of the seasons. I think what I love most about fall fashion is the ability to layer. You can do so much with an outfit by just adding different prints and textures in your layers!
Another thing I love about fall fashion is that you can easily transition pieces from summer to fall and fall to winter and spring! I dug through my closet to find a few of my favorites and how I like to transition them from season to season.
Little Black Dress
A classic black dress is definitely a closet staple. You can easily take it from a summer wedding or church outfit to date night in the cooler temps just by changing out your shoes and top layer. I fell in love with this kimono this summer!
Are you a booties with dresses type of gal? If you haven’t tried it yet, don’t be afraid to step out on the wild side! Go neutral or have fun with a print and layer up with a jacket!
Joggers
If you’ve been following around for long you may have noticed that I’m a bit obsessed with joggers. What’s better than taking something that is extremely comfy (allows for room to eat/drink all you want at dinner) and go from Netflix and chill to drinks with friends. I’ve been wearing these joggers this summer with either a basic tee or tank and sandals.
Change things up for the cooler weather and swap your tank for a sweater and some wedge sneakers to keep your shoulders and toes warm!
Plaid Blazer
A blazer is a staple, whether you wear it for your Zoom meetings or over a graphic tee for a night out. But, there’s something about a plaid blazer that I love! For the warmer temps throw it on with a pair of shorts and a tank. Depending on the length of the blazer, base that on your short length. Since my blazer is a longer style I threw on my bermuda shorts so I don’t look like I’m walking around without any pants on. 😉
Go a little casual as the temps get a little cooler and pair the blazer with a graphic tee and statement sneakers. A little over a year ago I decided to try P448 sneakers and I’m hooked. I’ve never worn anything so comfortable!
As temps get a little cooler, go ahead and layer the blazer with a sweater and your favorite booties!
Do you have favorites that you love to wear from season to season? These were mine and I hope they give you a little inspiration for taking some of your summer favorites on through the next seasons!
