Sweater season is here and it’s in full force. The button-style cardigans are a very popular style this season and a huge hit with many. But how do you style them? It’s super easy to add a little form to the sometimes boxy style sweater by giving it the appearance of a tuck. Ok, that sounds simple enough… but what if your jeans aren’t the right rise and it always comes untucked? That’s why I’m here to show you my little hack to give your cardigan the look of being tucked when it’s really not. After all, it is sweater weather. Now, let’s tuck a cardigan sweater, but not really. 😉
How to Faux Tuck a Cardigan Sweater
STEP ONE
Pick out a new cardigan, or one you have in your closet that buttons the entire front. You don’t want to go with one that is overly long. One that hits your hip bones or just below is perfect. Button up the entire sweater and leave the last two unbuttoned.
STEP TWO
Criss cross the bottom two buttons and holes. You will button the last button in the next hole up. Then button the next to last button in the bottom hole.
STEP THREE
Flatten out any bubbles, but that’s it! You instantly have the appearance of a cardigan with a front tuck. No needing to fix it throughout the day or when you go to the restroom.
