Labor Day weekend is one of those weekends that can include a little bit of everything. A cookout, dinner with friends, a day by the pool, shopping, or just enjoying that extra day off. So when it comes to Labor Day outfits, I’m keeping things easy. Think comfortable denim, lightweight tops, dresses and a few pops of color that still feel like summer but can easily carry you into September.

Easy Labor Day Outfits for the Long Weekend

For my look, I’m wearing a red blouse with denim shorts, woven flats, and a neutral bag. It feels a little festive for the holiday weekend without being too themed, and more importantly, these are all pieces I’ll keep wearing well into fall.

I rounded up a handful of other outfit ideas below for whatever your Labor Day weekend looks like. There are casual looks for daytime plans and cookouts, a couple of dresses, and a few outfits that are easy to dress up for dinner. You’ll see some red, white and blue mixed in, but nothing that feels like it can only be worn for the holiday.

Hopefully these give you a little inspiration if you’re staring at your closet wondering what to wear for the long weekend. And since Labor Day always feels like that unofficial bridge between summer and fall, almost everything here can keep working right into the next season. Just add a denim jacket or another light layer when the weather finally decides to cooperate.
