At the beginning of May, Mother’s Day to be exact I got to go on a Miami girls trip. Believe it or not I’ve been doing this blogging gig for about 4 years and have been talking to the same girls thanks to an Instagram group for a few years now. Finally a few months ago it was brought up that we should plan a girls trip and finally meet up in person. I did get to meet a few of the girls in Nashville in September when I was there for a work event but the rest of us have been dying to meet!
Between realizing we got invited on a yacht by someone that seemed to have a wrap sheet to just hanging out by the pool and talking about motherhood, business and everything in between, this Miami girls trip was just what I needed!
What I Wore On a Miami Girls Trip
When I travel, I love to be comfortable. Not all people find traveling in a jumpsuit to be ideal in the tiny airplane bathroom but I don’t mind one bit. It takes up less room in your suitcase when you’re coming home!
Another jumpsuit for the win. Obviously I saved this one for my trip home so that bright coral looked better with my Miami tan. My carry on bag was a splurge, but I had a few gift cards to put towards it. It worked perfectly for carrying my laptop and everything I needed.
Swimsuits I Wore
I actually grabbed this swimsuit last year and wanted to bring it because it was capable of being a strapless bikini when you removed the strap. High waisted, full rear coverage and it’s fun! The entire look is from Amazon and you can find each piece by scrolling the carousel of my Live.
On Sunday our first day there we immediately hit the pool. Kati and I both showed up in the scallop swimsuits. I’m wearing the small in the bikini and she sized up one in the one piece for more comfort.
When shopping for coverups to take on the trip, I wanted something neutral that would go with all my my suits. This one is a one size fits all and has a great stretch in the middle.
Miami Girls Trip- Dresses I Wore to Dinner
I made a quick trip to Evereve before my Miami girls trip and couldn’t leave without this dress. I’m hooked on the pink this summer and can’t get enough. Aside from being a great vacation dress it could totally pass for a work party too.
I received so many comments on my heels but believe it or not they are about 9 years old! They were my first designer purchase and I got them from Jimmy Choo when we were in Vegas years ago.
Our first evening there we had dinner at Juvia on the rooftop. Being Mother’s Day it was definitely pretty busy, however we received our food within about 10-15 minutes from the time we ordered our food. I’ve never received a meal so fast!
Our second day in Miami we spent the day by the pool then got ready for a group photoshoot with Amanda Julca Photography. I did a little shopping at Petal & Pup and decided on wearing this two piece set. What’s great is you could totally wear the skirt with a white tank and wear the off the shoulder top with a pair of denim shorts if you’re after a different look. Braided sandals are a huge trend so I grabbed this pair while they were on sale.
After our pictures we went to dinner at Amara at Paraiso. I had stone crab for the first time and found that I like it and had the best filet I’ve ever had for dinner.
After dinner we looked up local cocktail bars and ended up at the Tipsy Flamingo. Aside from the 7 of us, there was only one other couple in the bar. They had an awesome DJ and great drinks! Since it was only us in there the DJ catered to our playlist which was basically the entire Super Bowl halftime show from this year.
We truly had such a blast that night! Now, don’t think we got carried away and closed the place down… I’m pretty sure it was 11pm when we left that night. LOL
I kept going back and forth on whether or not to wear this dress. With the deep v in the front it’s a little outside of my comfort zone, but figured where better to wear it than a Miami girls trip. You definitely can’t wear a bra with the dress, however I didn’t even need to wear pasties because of the fabric style.
Our last night there we had dinner at Baoli. Most of the girls had sushi for dinner. For some reason I love the taste of sushi, but it doesn’t sit well with my stomach. So, as a fallback I went with filet again for dinner.
All of my dresses and swimsuits will be perfect for your next vacation! I’m wearing an XS in all of my dresses and a S in my swimsuits. Which look looks best?
