I’m not sure about you, but I need that little bit of makeup to help me feel a little brighter and awake. The only downfall with summertime is it’s hot, most days are pool days and I don’t want to waste the “good stuff” to just sweat it off. I’ve scaled down my makeup routine to help give me the summer glow and walk away from my vanity in 5 minutes or less!
Easy Summer Beauty Routine
Now, before we get very far into this I’ll remind you that I am the farthest thing from being a makeup artist or a beauty blogger. However, for this 35 year old mama, it works for me!
I always start off with my moisturizer then lip treatment [glorified chapstick]. I’ve tried to use cheaper chapstick, but I always come back to this. I’ve been using the Epicuren Colostrum Moisturizer for over a year now and love it. It’s lightweight, minimal smell [but smells good], and is a great base to my makeup. I use it morning and night and only need one pump for my entire face and neck so it lasts a long time! I purchase mine from Dallas Beauty Lounge. After moisturizing, I use the tinted primer that I swear is the holy grail. It’s best for combination to oily skin [perfect for me].
I’m a recent believer in the Tarte Shape Tape and can’t believe I’ve gone this long before using it. Honestly, I think Madison even used it before I did. [Thanks, YouTube.] I just throw a little on under the eyes, and on the bridge of my nose and blend in with a damp beauty blender. I’m also such a newbie to fancy makeup tricks that I used the beauty blenders for a few months before Madison told me you’re supposed to dampen them first. What a world of difference that makes!
I heard Jen from The Sister Studio rave about this airbrush finishing powder time and time again. Finally, when Sephora had the VIB sale I snagged it up to give it a try. I just dust some on over my concealer in shade fair.
I had used the Naked palettes for years and just decided to try a few Tarte palettes during their last sale. Madison and I both fell in love with this Rainforest of the Sea palette!
Full disclaimer: I have had false lashes for about a year straight now and it’s probably my most missed thing during this whole pandemic. My lashes grow straight out and have an awful time curling. When I had my lashes it cut so much time off my morning routine along with me just feeling put together as soon as I woke up with no makeup. Thanks to lashes and microbladed brows that is… After testing out a few of Madison’s mascaras I decided to pick this one up and give it a try. I definitely feel the primer helps and I really like the mascara. The price for both can’t be beat either. Under $10 is a steal on any beauty products!
And that’s it. After throwing on my lipstick [which I’ve used for years] and a fresh spray of dry shampoo I’m ready for the summer days either by the pool, running errands or working.
I hope you’re able to find a little inspiration for your everyday summer beauty routine!
