I love having some light by the pool and patio. What’s better is if it can also help fight off those pesky summer bugs! There are lots of fire bowls for the patio you can purchase ready to go, but they can get to be pretty pricy. These DIY fire bowls for the patio are much less expensive, and so easy to put together, my 12 year old son actually did most of the work!

What You’ll Need for DIY Fire Bowls for the Patio:

Planter – These were the perfect size to fit on my posts. I just added a piece of tin foil to cover the holes on the bottom.

Sand – Luckily, I was able to rob some sand from Jayden’s play pit to fill up most of the space.

Tiki Torches – These fit perfectly in the planter height wise. Place in the center, then fill with sand around them.

Tiki Fluid – I prefer the kind that helps fight against those pesky mosquitos!

Lava Rocks – I used one bag for 2 fire bowls.

After seeing how nice my first two turned out, I ended up making 4 more to place around the entire porch and use as a fire bowl on my patio table!

Happy DIY project and enjoy the ambiance on the patio on a budget!
