Early summer of this year a dear friend suggested I start a “Mom Blog”. I’ll be honest, I’ve not been a blog follower or reader until this year. I really had no idea where to start or what all it entailed. I didn’t even know what I should blog about starting off. What she told me? “You can connect with people in so many ways. Being a busy stay at home mom, a woman who is fortunate to stay home with her kids but still has the drive to succeed for herself, you live in a rural area and enjoy the outdoors with your family, but given the chance to hop on a plane and head somewhere tropical, eat at amazing restaurants, or shop for your favorite shoe boyfriends Jimmy and Christian – you’ve got it all covered!” So then I really started thinking, what can I share with others that’s valuable and they’d actually enjoy following? Umm, hello?! I love shopping, and sharing with others awesome finds and deals that I love. I don’t know that I’d consider myself the most fashion forward person, I mean for our area of southwest PA the “it” things usually show up here 2-3 years later. It’s just the way it is, and it’s not a horrible thing. But, sometimes when you’re in the fashion retail market like I was with my children’s boutique it makes it a little rough when buying for your store things that you know your customers may buy. So- I took the jump! It’s 100% been a learning curve for me. Sharing and writing content has been the easy part, getting it out there in the Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest world… that’s been the hard part.
I’ve for the longest time been the type of person that enjoys shopping and finding things that I know someone else may have been looking for or would like. It probably started out that way because I always loved shopping, but didn’t have the money to actually buy. This journey so far has been so fun, but probably my favorite part is receiving messages asking for help in finding something special you’re looking for. I guess I love the thrill and the hunt, that’s the only kind of hunting I’ll do as much as it disappoints my guys in the house.
So, thanks for following me on this new journey. I’m excited to see where 2018 leads #FLM. Madison is wanting to incorporate Fashionably Late Girl so we will figure it out! Here’s a few of the most purchased pieces this year from Fashionably Late Mom followers!
