I’m not sure about you, but as soon as the weather starts getting the least bit nice outside we are ready to spend all of our time on the porch and patio. After our sloppy winter, I usually need to do some cleanup. I’m going to show you how you can refresh your porch for spring in just a few simple ways so you can start enjoying your time outside. Believe it or not, most of it is from Amazon!
Refresh Your Porch for Spring with Faux Plants
Yes, I probably should’ve given my planter a little scrub before snapping a picture. But, thankfully we live pretty far back from the road and no one notices those little smudges. 😉 These ferns have sat outside for two seasons now and held up great. I have two stems in each planter.
This spring I swapped things around and moved the ferns to the front porch as a filler after I put away my Christmas pine fillers. That left me needing something for the back porch. I came across these artificial cedar shrubs and loved how they fit perfectly in these planters. There is a self watering tray inside of the planters and I just sat the shrub right on there.
Bring the heat when you refresh your porch for spring.
FIRE PIT / GLASS STONES
When we put in our pool a few years ago we added a permanent fire pit to the patio that burns real wood. Well, sometimes we don’t feel like going through the hassle of starting a real fire along with the smoke. I felt like this little offset on the porch was the perfect spot to add a small propane fire pit. I’ve had these rockers for years that I purchased from the Amish Country in Sugarcreek, OH. You may even be able to spot another one of my faux ferns sitting back there.
The fire pit does come with rocks you can put in it, however I was feeling a little bit extra and decided to grab these glass stones. I purchased the 20 pound bag and had some left over.
Those are just a few things I did to give the porches a little refresh and you can check out my upcoming Amazon Live where I’ll share all the details. If you’re looking for more ideas, you can see what all I did last year in this blog post.
