So, a few years ago I had a very difficult time turning 30. I was used to being the young one in the crowd. After 30 came and went I learned to adjust and deal with it. However, when 40 comes around I plan on spending a month on a private beach to prepare for the mental breakdown. LOL
Something I’ve been struggling with this Spring is “Mom” appropriate shorts. I feel like it’s hard to find the right style between the junior and grandma department. I don’t want to wear shorts that come to my knees, however booty shorts are NOT acceptable (in my opinion) when you’re over 25, let alone 30!
After some shopping at Nordstrom this past week I came across a few styles that I thought I’d share. These are all new brands to me, but so far I love them! A few details I looked for while shopping for new shorts:
Stretch & Comfort- I want my denim shorts to feel like I’m wearing boxers basically. All three of these feel great, especially while sitting which is a huge plus!
Length- The Mavi- Marla short comes to my fingertips (school appropriate). I will say they are a bit longer than I’m used to, but I feel good about the adjustment. The STS Blue, and Article of Society short are a little shorter but well below the booty cheek 😉
The Mavi and Articles of Society shorts fit true to size. I recommend sizing down one size with the STS Blue.
So, these are what I’m going to be starting my short season off in. It’s supposed to be 86 degrees here tomorrow and with an afternoon soccer game I’ll definitely be sporting a pair!
Feel free to share with me if you have a favorite denim short for the over 30 club!
