This year for the first time I headed in store to the Nordstrom at Ross Park Mall for an Anniversary Sale “pre-party” try on. My 16-year-old niece and 10-year-old daughter went with me and we honestly had a blast. Normally I just shop the store online at 2am but since they changed things up a bit this year I gave it a go. My helper Constance was a dear at helping us out and even taking care of ordering the shoes I picked out but didn’t have a chance to check for sizes in store.

I can say though, even though yesterday was only day 2 of in-store shopping sizes were selling out quick. There were a few pieces we had to order and weren’t able to bring home so online shopping will be your best friend through the sale!

Let’s get this party started!

Kyra and I both declared this would be our trip to the mountains outfit. Do you know how soft and comfy UGG boots are on the inside? Well, imagine that softness on the inside of your outfit! We’re both wearing a size small because it didn’t come in an XS. Kyra left hers at the store and I only brought home the pants because I felt the top would make me way too hot.

Kyra and I both tried out the Rails Military Jacket. We’re both wearing a small here and I ordered myself the extra small. I love layering jackets like this and love the fact that it’s not thick or heavy and gives a little bit of a bomber style. I paired it with the basic BP tee (under $12) and what will be known as my splurge jeans from the sale, the AG Ex Boyfriend Jeans. I did size down one in the jeans!

Want to know what will be the first cardigan to sell out from the sale? I’ll bet ya a nickel it will be this one! Even though the snakeskin print has made its way to the sale this year the leopard is still out in full force. I’m wearing an XS and it’s not super heavy or suffocating!

Don’t be a hater, but I’m currently curled up on the couch in this outfit typing away on my laptop. This will be my new rainy day outfit! Both are TTS.

Jacket / Cami / Jeans

This jacket was a big seller last year and they just changed up some of the minor details. I did not grab it last year but did bring it home with me yesterday. I wasn’t sure if I should bring home both this one and the Rails jacket but am going with them being just enough different to justify it to myself. The cinching at the waist pulls off a more figure flattering look along with the metallic thread detail at the pockets. Also TTS.

My niece said this was one of her favorite looks I had tried on. I haven’t worn flare style jeans in years but when I put on these Good American jeans I felt like I instantly had the Khloe Kardashian booty without all the squats. They definitely run long and will need hemmed even when wearing heels but finding a flare with some distressing isn’t too common so I brought them home. In both the jacket and top I’m wearing an XS. The blouse is kinda sheer, I have on a nude bra and didn’t notice it being super sheer.

Sweater / Jeans

This sweater or a super similar one often shows up during the sale and I snagged it this year. I loved the oversize style without feeling like I was in a sauna. Super cute with these boyfriend jeans or even a skirt and boots this fall!

Flannels are a staple in the fall and winter for me and even though this one was super soft and came in a handful of colors I didn’t bring it home. Even with the sale I feel I can grab a super similar look from American Eagle or Target this fall for a lot less. I did grab a new pair of STS Blue jeans this year though because you can’t beat the price even with they’re not on sale!

Obviously, I love to layer in the fall and these Leith cardigans are great for doing so. They give a long slim silhouette and aren’t going to make me sweat to death. This pretty purple did come home with me!

There were quite a few plaid blazers calling my name yesterday but this one had the best price tag so it won a trip to the dressing room. I truly loved the style of this blazer and feel paired with a pair of black booties I could conquer any boardroom. But, that’s the only problem… I don’t conquer a boardroom or an office so it didn’t make it home with me in fear I just wouldn’t reach for it enough when I’m either home doing laundry or headed to the football field for practice.

First and foremost, size up in this top! I’m wearing an extra small and it felt like it was sucking the life out of me. It’s a super soft material and not very thick so it would even layer great with cardigans or jackets this fall. There are a few cute ombre colors available too. This didn’t make the trip home because unless basics like this are under $20 I’m not going to snag them up as quick.

Cardigan / Cami / Jeans

Another great cardigan that looks cozy and fluffy without being too heavy. I loved the mixed marbling tones in this. It fit TTS and did come home with me! 😉 Tried out these Madewell high waist jeans and needed to size down one. These also won the golden ticket to my closet!

This sweater was one of Kyra’s favorite. She may be taking after her aunt now and becoming a Free People girl! She’ll need a little cami to wear under it for school but the XS fit her perfect! She tried it on with the STS Blue jeans but wasn’t a fan of the ankle length like I am.

I sent the girls down to shop for Madison while I wrapped up my stuff upstairs and was actually surprised that she had picked these pants. She says this is by far her favorite outfit she got yesterday. They are supposed to be a crop wide length pant but she refuses to do the crop style. She got the size Medium for length and Nordstrom’s alterations is taking in the waist for her for a better fit. The waist does run big though because the size small was still too big around the waist for her! This top isn’t part of the sale but is what matched best for her.

Madison’s right in the middle of the small/medium size range. She loved the bell sleeve style of this sweatshirt and even though the medium looks a tad big on her we snagged it up because she’s sure to hit a growth spurt before fall. My girl needs new jeans especially for length but an adjustable waist is a must. These were perfect across the board and make the back to school cut!

My girl loves comfy clothes and I sometimes have to remind her she can’t wear leggings every single day to school. She went ahead and got a medium in these Zella leggings because so many of hers are getting too short.

More cozy comfiness this ruched sleeve sweatshirt was fun! She’s not normally a pink person but she loved this one! It will definitely be paired better with leggings.

Yep, the tags are already off this and Madison is curled up on the couch while it’s pouring in it. Lightweight and super snuggly. My niece Kyra even grabbed the XL for herself!

Top / Jeans

All in all, she loves a good tee and this one offered a little party in the back. Brought this one home and ordered the other color!

Madison was the only lucky one who got to bring shoes home yesterday. These booties were her top pick from the shoe department. Check out the kids shoes because there’s always a pair of UGG boots included in the sale!

I did not get a chance to try on any shoes in the store yesterday but these were my favorites I was able to take a sneak peek at on our way out. The Steve Madden flats are going to fly off the shelves in a hot minute! My waterproof Blondo wedges are back again this year in new colors and prints. Wedge sneakers and Vince Camuto peep toe booties are on repeat! I’ll share more once mine arrive.

Hope this post helps give you a little help while more often than not the stock images online do nothing for what the pieces look like in real life. Keep checking into Facebook and Instagram stories for more favorites I find now that the sale is live online!
