I’m not sure about you, but I don’t have all the time [or energy] in the world to get ready and make myself look presentable most days. In all honesty, I’d say 3 out of 7 days I may actually wear makeup. I guess that’s the perk of working from home. Though my family would hate to admit it, most times when they’re wanting to go somewhere I can be ready with hair and makeup in under 10 minutes! Impressive, right?
I feel when you use good products, it doesn’t take a lot of time, energy and tools.
For the Face
I start out with a moisturizer. I’ve used the Epicuren Colostrum Moisturizer for years, however recently decided to try Elemis Pro Collagen moisturizer to see if I could get the same amount of bang for a little less buck!
After I know my moisturizer has soaked in, I use my favorite makeup primer. It works best if you have combination to oily skin and helps save me from needing to dab my forehead in the afternoon with some powder to soak up some oil. A lot of days I’ll just use my primer and call it a day!
I feel like foundation is something that one kind definitely doesn’t work for everyone. It depends on the type of coverage you want along with just how your skin is in general. I’ve used the IT Cosmetics foundation for a few years and am still happy with it. It’s hard to come by a good foundation that has SPF in in, let along SPF 50! I wear shade medium year-round.
After setting a good base, I just finish things off with a little bronzer , concealer [shade light neutral] and lip gloss [color infinite petal is a favorite]. I’m actually hoping our mask days are nearing an end so we can get back to showing off our favorite lip color!
Work the Hair
I’ve trained my hair where I only wash it once a week thanks to some magic dry shampoo. I’ve tried many different kinds and so far, Living Proof is still a favorite. I just stock up when there’s a sale! I usually apply it at night before bed for the best results!
After freshening up the locks, I just touch up my curls with my curling iron. I’ve had this iron for years and even after using many salon-grade irons [previous hairdresser if you didn’t know] it gives me curls for days! This iron is so easy to use, I even got Madison one for Christmas so she’d quit stealing mine!
After touching up those curls, voila! In all honesty, from start to finish I was ready in under 9 minutes!
Sharing the entire process with you [with a little speed action thanks to technology] you can see it all right here!
I hope my quick and easy routine helps give you some tips that we can look and feel good without being stuck in front of the mirror while the family is waiting around on us and better yet, without spending a fortune on products!
