I don’t know if you’re like me and enjoy a cool cocktail in the summer. Whether it’s a lazy day by the pool, or a family BBQ these cocktails are a great option!
- Miami Vice
My first introduction to Miami Vice was about 12 years on our Honeymoon in Aruba. I was only 20 at the time and was so glad we were out of the country and I could indulge in some great island drinks.
Basic rundown, it’s a strawberry daiquiri and pina colada combined in one.
I use Daily’s pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mix.
1 oz white rum
1 C crushed ice
3 oz Pina Colada mix
Blend together
Repeat above steps substituting with Strawberry Daiquiri mix.
Layer and pour both pina colada and strawberry daiquiri together in a glass.
Garnish with a pretty slice of fruit and you’re all set!
*Daily’s did start selling a cocktail mix that already has strawberry daiquiri and pina colada pre mixed. Just add ice and rum*
- Strawberry Mojito
1 oz of simple syrup
approx 3 fresh strawberries
4-5 fresh mint leaves
1/4 fresh lime cut in wedges
2 oz white rum
3-4 oz Sprite
Muddle simple syrup, strawberries, mint and lime in bottom of glass. Add rum and Sprite and stir.
These are oh so good. Don’t have simple syrup? Just make a little bit of sugar water to add in!
- Strawberry Lemonade Sangria (Pitcher Size)
1 lg package of strawberries sliced
1 lemon sliced
4 C lemonade
Small bottle of Moscato (I use Barefoot)
1 C white rum
2 C champagne
In pitcher combine strawberries, lemons, wine, rum and lemonade. Chill at least 4 hours or if in a hurry like me throw it in the freezer for a bit! Top with Champagne once chilled. This is oh so good, but you better be prepared to get tipsy!
- Vodka Spritzer
2 oz Fruit flavored vodka
1 can La Croix flavored sparkling water
My top pick for flavored vodka is raspberry. This is a quick and easy drink to whip up. Just mix flavored vodka and sparkling water!
- Malibu Bay Breeze
2 oz Coconut Rum
Small can pineapple juice
Splash of Cranberry Juice
Combine coconut rum, pineapple juice and cranberry juice. This is one of my all time favs. I first had this on a girls trip to St. Thomas. By far one of the most light and refreshing drinks!
